Alvaro Parres-Peredo is a Professor and Researcher at ITESO, the Jesuit University of Guadalajara, where he serves as Dean of Electronics, Informatics and Computer Sciences. His academic and professional work focuses on computer science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, digital transformation, and the development of engineering programs aligned with emerging technological and social challenges. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences and has led academic innovation initiatives related to artificial intelligence, software engineering, semiconductors, accreditation processes, and industry-university collaboration. He is also an experienced evaluator for national and international engineering accreditation bodies, including CACEI and ABET, and has contributed to strengthening quality assurance and continuous improvement processes in engineering education. His work is guided by the Jesuit tradition of forming professionals who combine technical excellence, ethical responsibility, and commitment to the common good. Through teaching, research, and institutional leadership, he seeks to promote engineering education that responds to global challenges while remaining deeply connected to human development and social impact.
