Alejandro López holds degrees in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering from the Bilbao School of Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow). He is currently a lecturer at the University of Deusto and he is a former visiting researcher at the University of Leeds and the University of Strathclyde. He teaches subjects in the area of Applied Mechanics (Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design...). His research field focuses on computational mechanics, coupling methods like Computational Fluid Dynamics, Discrete Element Modeling, Molecular Dynamics and the Finite Element Method to solver problems related to granular material flow, and the effect of cohesive forces, additive manufacturing, erosion and biomechanics.
